Hi Little Plotters, welcome to Activity 4!

This time our challenge is to draw a swallow or swift (and if we are really lucky, to see one). Swallows and swifts both live in Africa for winter, but fly to the UK in April and May, so now is the time to start looking! You can find out more about both birds, and how to tell them apart, at the RSPB website.

Frida

Swallows and Swifts

  • Swallows have long forked tails, which is one way to tell them apart from swifts.

  • Swift tails are still forked, but shorter.

  • Here is a picture of a swallow sent in by Isla. I love it!

  • West Hove infants tried some brass rubbings

  • Here is one of the results. Really colourful!

  • Indie decided to practice writing bird names. Nice work!

  • The Little Plotters have shown that there are lots of ways to complete this activity. Just be creative! When you have finished, don't forget to add sticker number 4 to your book. Have fun and see you soon! Love Frida
