Hosting a safe session at Plot 22

a guide for guest hosts & hirers

Thank you for considering Plot 22 for your event!

We’ve been here since 2010, and as you can imagine, over the past 16 years we’ve spent quite a bit of time working out how to ensure things work as smoothly as possible on the day. To help make your event a success, and keep everyone safe, we’ve created a safe session guide, which we ask all guest hosts and hirers to work to.

The guide is supplemented by the additional information provided below.

Additional Information

  • The Cabin

    When you enter the gate, the cabin is straight ahead

  • The Kitchen

    The kitchen area is to the right of the cabin

  • (1) The Stove

    The Stove is located in the left-hand corner of the kitchen. When you arrive, it will be under a cover.

  • (1) The Stove

    To operate the stove, remove the cover, turn on the gas and light, the hob using matches that can be found in a plastic box marked ‘hirer’, which you will be able to find in the cabin. After use, ensure the hob and gas are turned off and the cover has been replaced.

  • (2) Compost Loo

    When you come through the Plot 22 gate, the compost loo is the new looking building on your left. Instructions for its use can be found inside. 

  • (3) The Firepit

    The Firepit is in the centre of the seating circle in front of the cabin. The firepit will be covered. If you have made arrangements with Plot 22, wood or charcoal will have been provided, along with a (red) water bucket. Before making your fire, fill the red bucket with water and keep it by the fire in case it is required. Before leaving the event, make sure that the fire has been extinguished, and that the firepit cover has been replace.

  • (4) First Aid Kit

    The First Aid Kit is hanging up in the cabin, on the left-hand side as you enter.

  • (6) Hand Wash Station

    The Hand wash stations are located in the kitchen, to the right of the sink area. Please remember to make sure no-one drinks the hand washing water!

  • (7) Fire Extinguisher and Blanket

    The fire extinguisher and fire blanket can be found in the cabin, hanging by the log burner.

  • (8) Tap

    The Tap is located on the path outside the Plot, a few meters beyond the Plot 22 gate (near the back of the compost loo).

  • (9) Weald Community Toilet

    The Weald Community Toilet can be found in the accessible beds area, which are across the car park directly opposite the main Weald Allotment Gate. The key is hanging up on the right-hand side of the cabin as you enter.

  • (10) Cups and plates

    Cups and plates (etc) can be found in the plastic storage boxes by the sinks in the kitchen.
