We hope everyone who attended our Summer Holiday family sessions had as much fun as we did hosting! We’ll be adding some more sessions soon - watch this space for more details.

In the meantime we still have our seasonal celebrations to look forward to. For more information, including details of how to book, see below:

Family Seasonal Celebrations for 2025

Growing and cooking food to share is a big part of what we do at the PLOT 22 community allotment and has proved popular with families over the years. So we’re excited to be able to offer these seasonal celebrations in 2025.  Our seasonal celebrations will be around the time of the solstices and equinoxes and the traditional pastoral festivals that fall in between.

Dates for the calendar are Ostara (29th March), Beltane (4th May), Litha / Summer Solstice (21st June), Mabon (21st Sept), Samhain (1st November) and Yule / Winter Solstice (21st December).

Running from 10am til 2pm, together we’ll harvest, prepare, cook and eat a seasonal meal around the fire. There may also be some light gardening jobs to do around the plot and a seasonal nature discovery activity.

We are very grateful to the Nature Hubs Fund, in Partnership with Starbucks and Hubbub, whose support enables us to offer this year’s Seasonal Celebrations for FREE. However, donations help us continue to provide our sessions, so if you can afford it please do make a donation in cash on the day or securely online here: Donate

If you are not already on our family mailing list, you can register your interest in attending sessions here.

People Care Guidelines:

  • PLOT 22 is a special place where we can enjoy the simple pleasures of growing food to cook and share together. Whilst here we are all responsible for the safety of ourselves and each other. If you are bringing children please remember you are responsible for supervising them closely at all times.

  • Ensure that you and anyone you are accompanying are wearing weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.

  • It is important to arrive at the start of the session as we will be holding an opening circle to welcome and orientate everyone and share important safety messages.

  • Please bear in mind that the site is by its nature hazardous: with open fires, ponds, fungi, insects, occasionally wild animal faeces, overhanging branches, and uneven or slippery ground.

  • First Aid kits are located in the cabin. Fire circle safety, safe use of the wood burner, kettle, tools, and seasonal hazards will be explained at the start of each session.

  • We have a compost toilet on-site and provide handwashing facilities.

  • Please observe careful hygiene when preparing or eating food and help others you may be supporting to do the same.

  • PLOT 22 is a no alcohol, no smoking, vegetarian site.

  • Sometimes we allow participants to bring well-behaved dogs - please ask. They will need to be kept on a lead during the session.

Photo permission:

  • We ask that you do not take any photographs of people whilst on-site without first seeking their permission.

  • Sometimes PLOT 22 session leads would like to take photos to record and share news of PLOT 22 activities online. We understand that you or someone you are responsible for may not want to appear in these photos and this may be for important reasons. Please let us know.
