Skills Workshop: Learn the Art of Papercutting

Learn to paper cut with Brighton based papercut artist, Ben Courtney aka PorkChops.

Join us for a 2 hour, immersive, botanical themed paper cutting workshop in the tranquil setting of PLOT 22 city allotment.

Ben will teach you the basics of paper cutting and how to make various botanical themed pieces to take home.

Children over 10 are welcome but adult supervision is advised.

No need to bring anything as all materials and equipment will be provided however if you have a design from home you would like to convert into a papercut then feel free to bring it along.

We will be using very sharp blades to make our creations so care is needed to avoid injury. Plasters will be provided on the day but these are rarely necessary.

Soil & Soul

this session is led by Brighton and Hove Centre for Spirituality. Booking essential as numbers limited.

Late September is the time of the autumn equinox when we are poised on the threshold of a new season. It is also traditionally Michaelmas when Michael the warrior, with ‘iron in the soul’ subdues the dark force of the dragon.

We’ll do a simple ritual to find our own strength and courage to face the growing darkness, and to keep our inner light alive. As for our own dragons - well, we all know that where there’s a dragon there’s also treasure! Expect a lot of jewels!

We will garden, cook and take time for an experiential practice, then share the findings with each other.

Join us at the beautiful PLOT 22 in Hove. If it is chilly or wet, we can seek the comfort of the well-equipped hut with its wood-burning stove.

Suggested donations: £5 – £10 towards the work of PLOT 22.  Booking via meetup link below essential as numbers limited:
